Are sessions private or group sessions?
All sessions are private, one on one. If you are interested in small group tutoring for siblings, classmates, or a study group, reach out and we can discuss options and pricing.

 

Are sessions in person or online?
Sessions are conducted online via Zoom. This allows for flexible scheduling and access to screen sharing, digital whiteboards, and recorded sessions for review.

 

What subjects do you offer?
A wide range. On the math side, everything from elementary school through Calculus 2, with Calculus 3 available now and Linear Algebra and Differential Equations being added fall 2026. Sciences include Living Environment, Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Physics, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, and AP Physics C Mechanics and E&M. History covers Regents Global, AP World, APUSH, and AP Euro. I also teach Economics (AP Macro and Micro), CS and Engineering (Python, Java, Digital Electronics, Digital Systems Design, CAD), and English through AP Literature. What are your qualifications?
I graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School as Gold Medalist in Electrical Engineering with a 98.95 unweighted GPA and a 104.26 weighted GPA, ranking #3 in a class of 1,463 students. I have been tutoring since the summer before my freshman year, accumulating four years of experience across private tutoring, small group instruction, and lead teaching roles. I have worked with 60+ students, achieved an 85% specialized high school admission rate among my SHSAT students, and a 75% SHSAT pass rate. I also interned at Con Edison and Amazon Web Services, earned Eagle Scout, and co-founded a nonprofit serving 100+ neurodiverse families in New York City. I am now pursuing electrical engineering at NYU Tandon.

 

How do sessions work?
Every student gets an initial consultation where we identify their specific gaps, goals, and learning style. From there, sessions are fully tailored. I do not teach from a script. I find the exact moment a student's understanding broke down and rebuild from there. Sessions typically involve concept review, worked examples, practice problems, and test strategy depending on what the student needs that day.

 

How much do sessions cost?
Standard tutoring sessions are $65 per hour. AP course tutoring starts at $75 per hour and may vary depending on the specific course and level of demand. Test prep packages for SHSAT, SAT, ACT, and Regents are available, reach out for pricing based on your timeline and goals.

 

Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. Before booking, I offer a free introductory consultation to discuss your student's needs, assess where they are, and determine whether we are a good fit. No commitment required.

 

How do I book a session?

How far in advance do I need to book?
I recommend booking at least a week in advance to secure your preferred time slot, especially during peak periods like Regents season, AP exam season, and SHSAT prep season in the fall. Spots fill quickly so reaching out early is always better.

 

Do you offer ongoing sessions or packages?
Yes. Many students work with me on a consistent weekly or biweekly schedule throughout the school year. Ongoing scheduling options are available and discussed during the initial consultation. Consistency is one of the biggest factors in student improvement.

 

What age groups do you work with?
I work with students from elementary school through rising college freshmen. This includes middle schoolers preparing for the SHSAT and high school entrance exams, high schoolers tackling APs and Regents, and college students needing help with ALEKS math placement or introductory college courses.

 

What is the ALEKS placement test and can you help with it?
ALEKS is a math placement exam used by many colleges and universities to determine which math course incoming freshmen are ready for. Placing into a higher level course can save time and money. I offer targeted ALEKS prep sessions designed to help students place as high as possible before their first semester begins.

 

What makes your tutoring different from other options?
Most tutors teach from a position of distance. I teach from lived experience. I took every exam I prepare students for. I know what the pressure of the SHSAT feels like, what it is like to struggle in AP Physics, and what it takes to succeed at a school like Brooklyn Tech. I am a peer first and a teacher second, and that combination produces results that generic tutoring services cannot replicate.
