Meet Dylan
I am Dylan Dufour, founder of Dylan's Tutoring Services, Gold Medalist in Electrical Engineering at Brooklyn Technical High School, and one of the top three students in a graduating class of 1,463.
I started tutoring the summer before my freshman year because I knew what it felt like to have to work harder than everyone else to get where I wanted to go. Four years and 60+ students later, 85% of my SHSAT students have earned admission to NYC specialized high schools and 75% have passed the exam. Those numbers matter, but what I am most proud of is what happens before the test. Finding the exact moment a student's understanding broke down, rebuilding it with them, and watching them realize they were never as far behind as they thought.
I graduated #3 in my class with a 104.26 weighted GPA while interning at Con Edison and Amazon Web Services, earning Eagle Scout, and co-founding a nonprofit that has worked with over 100 neurodiverse families across New York City. I know what it takes to succeed at the highest levels because I have been doing it since I was 13.
What makes my tutoring different is that I am a peer, not a distant authority figure. I remember what it felt like to sit in AP Physics and feel genuinely lost. I speak from lived experience and I meet every student exactly where they are.
I teach math from elementary school through Calculus 2, sciences through AP Physics C E&M and AP Chemistry, AP History, CS and engineering, English through AP Literature, and test prep for the SAT, ACT, SHSAT, Regents, AP exams, and the ALEKS college math placement test. Linear Algebra and Differential Equations are being added this fall as I begin my electrical engineering degree at NYU Tandon.
If your student needs someone who will not give up on them, you found the right tutor.
